The Community Foundation of Mississauga was established in 2001 by a dedicated group of leaders who believed in and were committed to, building community vitality. Today, the Community Foundation of Mississauga is managing endowed funds in excess of $22 million. Our cumulative granting to a wide range of local charities grows each year and as of 2019 is in excess of $12 million.
In our vision, our community is able to include and offer opportunities to everyone. It has the knowledge and ability needed to help shape its own future. We are ready to address pressing problems like hunger, housing, and unemployment. All of our citizens are able to benefit from the best our community can offer: the arts, health care, recreation, education, safe and inclusive neighbourhoods, and a healthy environment.
The Community Foundation of Mississauga is part of one of the fastest-growing charitable movements building community vitality. We are a member in good standing of Community Foundations of Canada. We serve all of the people and neighbourhoods of Mississauga from Port Credit in the south, to Meadowvale in the north. We are reputable, responsible, and accountable stewards of some of Mississauga’s largest philanthropic gifts and proudly count key community leaders among our donors, volunteers, fundholders, and stakeholders.
“On behalf of the Board of Directors at Peel Children’s Aid Foundation, thank you for your generous support of our Infant Wellness Program. Thanks to the Community Foundation of Mississauga - Pendle Fund’s donation of $15,000, Peel Children’s Aid Foundation is able to provide for over 1300 vulnerable babies under the care or supervision of Peel CAS. The Infant Wellness program assists in the mental, physical, and emotional development of vulnerable infants and their families. This program provides cribs, car seats, safety gates, medical and infant supplies. With the support from six specially trained Registered Nurses, our families receive additional support and workshops on safe sleeping, breastfeeding, bath and care, etc. Your donation affords families essential items such as: Diapers, Baby wipes, Formula, Cribs, Strollers & Educative courses. Your contribution truly makes a difference in the lives of our most vulnerable children and youth”.

“Please allow me to express our sincere appreciation to The Community Foundation of Mississauga and the Liz Nilsen and Bernie Gross Fund for the continued support of The Salvation Army Community & Family Services. The grant provided us the opportunity to take a major step forward in allowing our clients of our food bank to give themselves and their families a better and healthier lifestyle. They are now able to have access to the many healthy vegetables that we grow in our gardens. This has taken our food bank to another level in its ability to now be able to provide a healthier and more well-rounded diet for our food bank clients. We should all be aware of the numerous benefits of a healthy diet and what this does for a person. The healthy options that we have provided allow children to focus better at school, it allows them to grow in to healthy adults, it cuts down on medical necessities and hospital visits. The benefits of a healthy diet in adults provide them the building blocks for success in life. This fact has been proven time and time again. We value your partnership with us as we all work to take care of our community. Your gift makes such a difference to families in need”
